Behold the humble Stinging Nettle (Urtica Dioica):

The common stinging nettles within the UK are in an abundant and are a forgotten free food source, with amazing health benefits.

Not only do they contain up to 25% protein (one of the highest protein content for a leaf vegetation), they are a natural blood cleanser.

They are also jam packed full of essential Vitamins & minerals including:

  • Vitamin A

  • Vitamin B2

  • Vitamin C

  • Vitamin K

  • Iron

  • Potassium

  • Calcium

  • Manganese.

They are known to Help & Prevent the symptoms of:

  • Anaemia

  • Asthma & C O P D (See Amazing Study info below)

  • Acne & spots

  • Respiratory & Urinary Infections

  • Rheumatism & Arthritis

  • Hay fever

  • Colds & Flu

  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

The best part to pick is the growing tips (top 6 leaves), and are best picked from March to May (before they go to flower), and a pair of rubber gloves will prevent you getting stung. Once picked, just put in a cullender and pour boiling water over them, this will remove the sting and irritations leaving them ready to eat (season with a little salt & pepper and drizzle olive oil over makes them very palatable with a similar taste/texture to spinach).

C O P D Study 2015 - 2018:

The study carried out on male participants with mild to moderate C O P D (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) using a daily 30ml dose of Nettle Syrup made by www.dolrosacanina.co.uk

Short-term Study (30 Days): showed that after only 7 days all participants showed and felt improvements in breathing and vitality, and after 30 days all participants (including heavy smokers) had a pulse oximeter reading of 98%

Long-term (1yr+): Participants who continued using the nettle syrup and participated in a small amount of daily exercise along with minor changes to their diet, have increased in strength & vitality, and been able to drastically lower/reverse the effects of C O P D and lead a normal life without the use of Inhalers.
